Our Favorite Sanibel Island Beaches

There are several Sanibel Island Beaches that provide different atmospheres altogether. Depending on what you are looking for, Sanibel and Captiva have several options. If you don’t mind walking, Bowman’s Beach is a wonderful choice. Nestled away off of Sanibel Captiva Rd., Bowman’s Beach is located on the far west side of Sanibel, offering a more exclusive beach with a quieter ambience than some of the other beaches.

Sanibel Causeway

If you are looking for a place to relax, but don’t mind the crowds, then consider the Sanibel Causeway. With the restrooms easily accessible, this is a great option for a quick beach retreat. Park right on the beach and everything is conveniently right in front of you. No parking fees here as well!

Turner Beach

If you are looking for a place to fish, surf, and relax, then Turner Beach may be the best beach to meet your needs! Located on Captiva Island, this beach offers spectacular scenery and higher waves. If you are looking to fish, Blind Pass is a great place for anglers (both novice and experienced) to test the waters against snook, redfish and tarpon! The sunsets are amazing, as this beach is directly facing west, so there are no obstructions between the setting sun and the Gulf of Mexico. Who knows, you may even get to see the green flash!

Lighthouse Beach

For a more iconic beach, the Lighthouse beach is always a great choice. The Sanibel Lighthouse beach offers a plethora on recreational activities, from paddle boarding and kayaking to very well documented fishing as well. Built in 1884 and standing 93 feet tall, the Sanibel lighthouse attracts more visitors than other beaches, making it very popular. Located on the far east end of the island, this is one of the favorites for locals.
